When it comes to establishing proven cattle to strengthen a herd the first thing we feel that is important is a track record from a proven pedigree. Not a show record but a long list of cattle that have continually reproduced cattle that have made a positive impact on the Angus breed. In the case of M&W Miss Rito 643 she does all that and more. A granddaughter of the legendary Rito 9J9 who sired his fair share of productive cows in virtually every herd he was implemented in. Rito 156C takes the quality one step further with his track record of consistency as well as his world renowned dam, Forever Lady 395 GDAR whose influence has and will be felt for decades to come. Traveler 1148 is a household name amongst the Angus fraternity for his quality females that worked well throughout the countryside. We purchased Miss Rito 643 as a 7 year old cow who was already a member of the donor pen for Hinman Angus, in fact in the 2005 Performance Breeders bull sale, 6 sons averaged $8800. Over the years this great brood cow has proven extremely worthy to our herd and many others to boot. KBJ Round Farms selected a Alberda Traveler son for their herd where he sired a tremendous set of calves with the females being extra good. As well 643's last natural calf by Innovator was selected by Summit Creek Angus for their purebred cows.But like any good cow the value comes in her daughters and they have all been excellent to date and with embryos still in storage we will continue to feel the impact of this great cow.
